I've not heard of that one - is that the film with the chickens all turning inside out at the command of a digitised midget's arhythmic bongo experiments?

Ah.... Princess Mononoke - a bona fide classic. Is it better than Spirited Away though? That's a tough one. I'm yet to see a Miyazake film that hasn't been awesome. I *think* my favourite at the moment is Castle In The Sky, but that may just be because i'm a sucker for an awesome robot Saw Grave Of The Fireflies last week - oh my word, that is the saddest film i've ever seen. And awesome.

im yet to see grave of the fireflies, although i really want to. in my opinion princess mononoke is better than spirited away. i thought spirited away was the best film ever until i watched princess mononoke, which i thought was a little bit better. howl's moving castle was a good one aswell. actually most studio ghibli films are awesome.

I haven't seen a bad Ghibli film yet. I've kind of lost track of how many are out there that i've yet to see.... I haven't seen Nausicaa Valley Of The Wind yet, and i've heard that that one's a corker.

Saw Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children last night. Silly, silly, silly. Brilliant. Next in the queue - Ghost In The Shell II, which, as it turns out, was made by Studio Ghibli too, therefore I have no doubt that it will be great.

too late, saw the 'Code..........it is rather rubbish isn't it?
you could almost hear the sound of pages being torn out of the book for the sake of speeding things up (researching on a wap phone, wtf? and where was the 2nd cryptex? and why did Sauniere bother with all that kerfuffle when Silas didn't even tell him that he'd killed the other Sechenaux - surely that was the only reason he did all the code stuff; because he thought the secret would've died with him.)
don't even get me started on the "ending" .........or Tom Hanks for that matter, or the fact that they took the interesting+intelligent character of Sophie Neveu, cast the interesting+intelligent Audrey Tautou.......and proceeded to write her firmly into the background
*when reading the "So dark the con of man" riddle; Sophie - "Can you decipher this?" translation - "I'm just a girl, look at my pretty eyes"
Bollocks on toast
