Ask not what your Left Side Brain can do for you (release an ear smashing/massaging bottykicker of a new album), but what you can do for your Left Side Brain (bravely aid us in our quest). We'll hold up our end of the bargain - you have our solemn oath - but when the release of 'Collider' is upon us, ask yourself "how may I be of assistance, gents?".
Hyperbole aside, we're glad you asked. We've been working our posteriors (and wallets) raw for the last year writing, fretting over, recording and polishing our new album, and finally we're moving out of the 'making' and into the releasing, publicising, and, of course, gigging the muthalovin' stink out of it - this is where you come in....
Now, it may have slipped your notice, but in terms of globe straddling success, Metallica we ain't. If Richie keeled over tomorrow and we had to recruit Rob Trujillo in his place, we wouldn't be crossing his palm with a cool million buckaroos like in Some Kind Of Monster; in fact, he'd be lucky to get a Sherbet Dip-Dab and a firm shake of the hand. The point that we're trying to make here is that whilst we're lucky enough to get our records in the shops, that's all the support that we've got. No national advertising campaign, no corporate street team, no buying into prestigious tour support slots, no high profile booking agent, none of that good stuff that greases the wheels for our major label peers. We're doing this the old fashioned way, we're doing it ourselves, and if you've got the inclination you can get involved.
We're going to be gigging this record all over the UK this year, and if you want a slice of the action, then we need you. Whether it's getting the word out with flyers and stickers, getting us a review in your local zine/rag/radio, pimping our asses on the net, or bugging Daniel P Carter to play us on the Radio 1 Rock Show, we want to hear from you.
Drop us a mail to whatyouneedismeiamextremelyhelpfulandjustwaituntilyouhearmyawesomeideaforpimpingLSB@leftsidebrain.com and we'll take it from there - in exchange for your awesome assistance we'll be providing as much as we can in return - free stuff, exclusive stuff, free entry to your hometown LSB show and the like.
What a deal! Together we can make 2009 the year of Collider. Onward!
