we've asked for support, so we'll hopefully be providing some form of rock before you guys take the stage.

From this week's Venue magazine:
Venue Magazine Associated BEST OF BRISTOL THE CROFT, BRISTOL (FRI 12th)
The Croft turn their attention to the more riff-rocking highlights of the local scene this week, and so line up with the tight-as-hardcore of Retina, Bosc Monitor - who we've yet to see in their new incarnation, but who until the very recently we knew as The New Black, purveyors of a mystifying blitz of indie sensibilities, math rock, unnatural progression and punk-tinged metal - and Bristol-based Anglo-Welsh foursome Left Side Brain (pictured). We could talk about wrecking ball drums or searing triple vocal attack, or we could just point you in the direction of a logo review from earlier this year: "Imagine JPL and Idlewild armed with baseball bats and slugging it out over which elements of their different visions will be allowed to predominate". As their producer, Neal 'Clutch, Therapy?' Calderwood, has helped further their 'simple philosophy that the greatest tunes work best when they're thrashed within an inch of their life', a trick learned when the band spent their first two years together 'committed to gigging like bastards in every corner of the UK.'. Now though, debut long player 'Equal and Opposite' is in the shops, and they can rest up a little - see feature next week to find out'.

Definitely coming on Friday with Jack and Ross. Ross sez: "I know the joiners...heh heh...they have a section (or used to) called the Dungeon...last time i went there we had to take our friend to casualty with concussion.." Sounds good.

....and it was! Good to see you, gents - as it turns out, The Joiners is an awesome venue. It also boasts one of the loftiest stages I have ever graced, so apologies to anyone who could see up my trousers.
