So, moved into a new flat with my girlfriend a few weeks ago and my CDs were all sitting in boxes until my new 700+ CD shelves arrived from Argos, kings of cheap furniture (fuck IKEA) for me to unpack them into.
Anyway I was so bored 'cause Ann is away on holiday that I decided I might as well put them into alphabetical order (I'm ignoring your chants of "loser" etc.).
The theory was that I might actually be able to find a CD rather than searching for hours and never finding the one I wanted.
Anyway it ended up being quite fun because I discovered loads of stuff I'd totally forgotten I had! Including Big Bang Theory which I shamefully thought I'd lost. Actually, the Left Side Brain section is becoming quite impressive.
I also found a tape demo from some band called Sideswipe!
Yes, I am bored. And I'm sure you are too if you read all that.

Getting yer cd collection in alphabetical order is one of the great guilty pleasures, for men of all ages.
But someone please explain to me how you alphabetically order compilation records...? Eh?

but putting them under "V" fucks up the legitimate "V" artists - I don't want my... *realises he has no albums by bands beginning with 'V'...puts Velvet Revolver on shopping list*
anyway - i don't want my shameful pair of "Now that's what I call utter shite" compilations sullying my otherwise excellent cd collection, so I put all compilations at the end
then they can be kept near the random free magazine cds, which surely don't count towards the cd collection...do they?
i just don't know anymore - i'm off to vacuum up some spiders

I put them by the name of the collection, the K section has all the "Kerrang" compilations in the middle. Do they count? No of course not.
The sideswipe tape is a bit fucked. And why would I sell it anyway? I didn't sell my I Believe in a Think Called Love EP (the original one) when they were going for £30 on e-bay.
Fuck e-bay.

Separate pile for compilations, defo. Next to the 'guitar mag cover CDs pile', if your collection is anything like mine
