Great guitar sound on the album. What are you using to create dirty chainsmokers growl? Your Marshalls? Any trickery?

Yeah, I figured the answer might be that. I might have to get me a new amp. Everytime I go and look at the Mesa Boogies in Guitar Heaven I wish I was rich!

As the resident technological expert in the band, I can reveal that the LSB guitar sound is achieved by playing a mandolin through a super-distortion pedal.

If I may step in with the actual factual lowdown, guitars were recorded as follows:
G: Gibson RD Standard through Marshall Triple Super Lead head, through 2 marshall cabs, one with modern 75watt speakers, one with vintage 30s. The head was cranked so loud that the whole building was shaking and each cab was miked both close and a couple of feet away (as I recall....) and mixed to taste.
Oli: Same setup except with a Les Paul Custom Black Beauty through Marshall JCM900 head and an old Ibanez Tubescreamer (TS10?).
C'est la.

The bass was achieved through low resonance humming, Crash Test Dummies style.

Only kidding, actually it was a MIDI patch of the mandolin/super distortion pedal thing

I nearly bought an electric mandolin for £130 when hungover...

I bet that would've been ace. I've always had a hankering for a mandolin. If it's good enough for Jimmy Page...

I found out later that my little brother has an acoustic one... I want to steal it.

Ok, I've just spent an hour researching electric mandolins on the 'net.

Buy one and we can use it on 'Enter The Necrofuricon'. How low can you tune one of those suckers?

Well it's E A D G standard.
I reckon we can do at least drop D - down a half step to C# like you guys.... but Necrofury should be heavier than that.
Take it all the way down to B?
