Actually, I only have the 'Beer Commercials' MTB, which seems to be fucking superb. Wasn't sure about the album after that. If you have Planet of Ice, wouldn't mind a listen...

yeah no problems - will rip it for you.
Today, and quite a few other days this week, we are mostly listening to "Girls And Boys" - by The Subways.
Quite how this previously atrocious band has managed to come up with such an irresistibly awesome song I really don't know........it truly is the nuts.

at the risk of coming across as an NME schmindie wankstain................it's all about JoFo at the moment (that's Johnny Foreigner btw) check it: www.myspace.com/johnnyforeigner - shouty dissonant indie guitar pop rock like the good old days of early Idlewild, and other Fierce Panda type stuff

There's a helluva lot of Pavement mixed in with that Idlewild.

Hey so as a result of this thread, I've started listening to The Skeptics Guide and Minus The Bear.... anyone else got any bands that I really should check out? I really should try and listen to something other than Kerbdog, Reuben and Tool...
Oh and G... Skeptoid? Better than Skeptics Guide?

If you're in need of new tunes, you won't go far wrong with a bit of Rocket From The Crypt. I'd start with Scream Dracula Scream or Group Sounds - my deep and solemn love for this band is no secret, and they kick arse pretty damn hard. Oh, and Skeptoid is also ace - Brian Dunning is a very clever man.

I would always recommend picking up Blast Tyrant by Clutch. Woo-hee, what an LP.
Great to see there's one more recruit to the SGU.
Oh, and everyone go listen to Pat Condell on youtube.

Pat Condell on SCIENTOLOGYwww.youtube.com/watch?v=3Ga9uX-2C50&feature=related"... I'm keen to find out more about this religion but unfortunately there is one small obstacle and that is the poster boy himself, Mr Tom Cruise. I mean I just have such a serious problem with his movies because he always seems to be playing somebody who's taller than he really is, and this just doesn't work for me. In the back of my mind I'm thinking, 'this guys acting tall. Why is he pretending? What is he ashamed of?'. Being small is fine. There's nothing wrong with being small. I know lots of small people and they're all wonderful. If Tom Cruise played small movie heroes it would do small people's image a lot of good on this planet, but no, instead he chooses to perpetuate the illusion and reinforce the stereotype that tall is good and small is bad. If he's capable of this kind of dishonesty in observable life, then what's he going to be like when it comes to the mysteries of life? And if he's literally notprepared to stand up for the little guy, I have to ask myself, 'is this the kind of person I want to be associated with? And how much can his religion really offer me?" This guy's rants are definately worth a listen... thanks for steering me in his direction...

Hear hear - check out Condell's rants for free on iTunes. SPOILER: he's not a particularly big fan of religion Current listening: The Night Marchers - See You In Magic. This record is fantastic, and Speedo remains a genius.
