Wowsers I'd like to be a part of metal week, although my distinct lack of moolah is seriously hindering my chances of buying a ticket...
What's "Death Magnetic" like?? Another bunch of songs that are just a wee bit too long??

wish I could afford them too.........am utterly broke. I'm firmly in "try before you buy" mode.
Death Magnetic sounds like a cross between The Black Album and Master Of Puppets, good stuff. Will definitely buy it when I get paid

Yeah I've had a wee listen to each track on YouTube and it sounds pretty cool... glad to see they've abandoned the biscuit-tin-Bob-Rock-shit-snare they seemed to have adopted for "St. Anger"

I know it's terribly uncool of me to say this, but I thought St Anger sounded great. But then I was never a diehard Metallica fan. Maybe it's all those years of listening to Therapy? that have predisposed me to dig nasty ringing snares In other news, it looks like Midasuno have just split up. Shame. Another of our peers calls it a day...

You can't beat a bit of Manics. Well, *some* bits The first three albums were very close to my heart indeed, but once Richie went, JDB seemed to completely lose interest in kicking botty on the guitar, and unsurprisingly, in my eyes they began their precipitous descent into G's "couldn't give a monkey's" bucket. I hate to say it, but as far as i'm concerned, the loss of Richey pales next to the loss of JDB's axe mojo Mind you, I did read that Richey used to always be the one who egged JDB on to "out-Slash Slash". I'm sure there's a "4-REAL" joke to be had in there somewhere.

Suicide Pact... You First is well worth a blast. It's a big horrible messy corker of a record.
This week I have been sampling the delights of (I mean "listeing" to) the new ACDC album. I think it's a surprisingly solid offering - anyone else had a go?
In other news, this week Richie described Dave Mustaine's hairdo as "like a greasy orange mist rolling back over a squinty, wrinkly boiled egg".
